An orientation programme was organized by the coordinator of WEC Dr.K.V.Padmavathi on 24th june 2015  inorder to enlighten students about the activities of Women Empowerment Cell

GUEST DEMONSTRATION  ON  YOGA MUDRAS WAS GIVEN BY MS.G.VIJAYARATNA KUMARI, FACULTY OF SOCIAL SCIENCES, CH.S.D.ST.THERESA’S COLLEGE FOR WOMEN, ELURU ON 5th SEPTEMBER 2015

Mrs.P.S.BhanuPrasanna, Faculty of Home Science Department demonstrated   Quilling  Art to women’s cell students on 14th of Dec' 2015. Students were given a series of demonstrations to prepare flowers and designs out of paper strips meant for this art. 



On 21st Dec 2015 demonstration on Fabric Painting was arranged to the students of women’s cell. Students participated actively. Ms.Pavani.I, Faculty Of Fashion Designing Was The Resource Person

  
Polyester is the major material for manufacturing of artificial flowers since 1970s. Most artificial flowers in the market nowadays are made of polyester fabrics. This learning experience was given on 30th Dec’ 2015 by Mrs. G.Poornima, an entrepreneur

Faculty of the College are offered one year certificate course in Photoshop and the resource person was Mr. D.Lokesh from the computer science department

 
  Role plays and dramatizations were organized by involving students of various groups on atrocities that women are undergoing in their day to day life. All the groups took an active role in depicting the women’s issues. Experiences of empowered women were arranged on 8-11-2015

 On 26th August 2015 Women’s equity day was celebrated in our college.
Chief Guest Mrs. Sarita Lunani, President, Inner wheel Club of Eluru, highlighted the importance of women’s equity in the present day global village. An emphatic talk was given with the help of motivational videos
 



Field trip is a method of learning in which a group of interested students accompanied and guided by the staff advisors to gain firsthand knowledge of improved practices in their natural settings. It is a series of demonstrations arranged in a sequence. It has incidental values of entertainment and site seeing. By realizing these advantages, students of women’s studies centre were taken to one day field trip to Kalpana bakery Eluru on 5th January 2016 to give an exposure on the process of baking different food products. 

 



Competitions help to gain in depth knowledge about the area concerned. They help to show the skills of the individuals. There is a wider scope for creative outlet for the participants. Scope for positive emotional expressions is greatly felt during competitions. Realizing these merits various competitions like Elocution, Essay Writig, Craft making and Role play were organized for the students of the women empowerment cell.

WOMEN’S DAY CELEBRATION

Ch.S.D.St.Theresa’s autonomous college for women, Eluru through the Centre for Women’s Studies organized women’s day by focusing its attention on under privileged women of the society. Guest lecture and role play were organized in the adopted area. Resource person through the guest lecture brought to lime light the following  ‘Millenium Development Goals’( MDGs) – Eradication of poverty and hunger, importance of  universal primary education,  gender equality and women empowerment, reducing of child mortality, improving maternal health, combating  HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases etc.
 
Further women were made to realize through the role play the importance of economic empowerment through the formation of SHGs and by inculcating the savings habit and developing entrepreneurial skills so as to attain financial independence and thereby supplementing family income. Organizers are confident that this programme would enable the women to improve their standard of living and thereby enhance their quality of life.
